From Heaven and Earth
Mood:  on fire

Have you a story you'd like to share with friends and family? You've polished it, edited it and made sure it is the best story you can write. Now what?

"Don't self-publish!" At least don't self-publish without examining all the pro's and con's on the subject. It is far too easy to spend a lot of money and end up with a pile of unsold books in your garage or basement.

The self-publishing route works well if you only want a few books to give family and friends. Or if the material you are writing is time sensitive. If your topic won't be of interest in two years time, the time needed for most royalty publishers to bring your book from the design stage to the market, you might want to go ahead and publish it now. This would be the case when publishing a book to celebrate a special anniversary or a specific festival.

If you are public speaking, you can promote  your books  at your speaking engagements. Whatever your decision, learn all you can on the subject, then find a company with a good reputation to work with you.

My books are:

Meditations for the Journey from Heaven and Earth (Sunset Publishing, Smiths Creek, NB)

Historic Grand Manan (Nimbus Publishing, Halifax, NS)

Christmas in the Maritimes (Nimbus Publishing, Halifax, NS)

When Canada Joined Cape Breton (Nimbus Publishing, Halifax, NS)

Remembering Honey (Nimbus Publishing, Halifax, NS)
